March 12, 2020 Henry County Senior Centers CLOSED:
In an abundance of caution and in consideration of recently released information on the coronavirus COVID-19, Henry County will temporarily close its four Senior Centers beginning Monday, March 16, and centers are expected to remain closed until further notice. County manager Cheri Hobson-Matthews, in consultation with staff and after briefings with the Emergency Management Agency and the District 4 Department of Public Health, made the decision as a preemptive measure to best protect the county’s senior population, who have been identified by the health care community as the most vulnerable population being affected by the coronavirus COVID-19.
Although the centers will be closed to the public, senior services, such as Meals on Wheels and in-home services, will continue for those who currently receive them. Henry County Senior Centers will also continue to serve lunch meals from the closed senior centers with an innovative drive-thru service. Clients who are already registered with Senior Services will be permitted to purchase meals in a drive-thru line, Monday through Friday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Students will receive information from their school about the activities available to be continued at home.
