We are a public planning and development organization that puts customers first, values partnerships both inside the city and with outside agencies and strives to shape the City of Locust Grove as a premier place to live, work, and invest. We provide information, advice and technical support to the city's citizens, elected and appointed officials to assist them with development decisions, issues and priorities. We are committed to long-term economic vitality, environmental integrity, and the quality growth of our community.
The Community Development Department is responsible for maintaining and implementing the future land use policies through use of zoning and development regulations, for review of development site plans, for review and issuance of building permits, and administration of the city's geographic information systems.

New CAD Standards/Requirements |
*The City of Locust Grove now requires CAD drawing files for submission of AS-Built drawings and final plats, effective July 2007. See standards under Applications, Final Plats for further details. *Water/sewer specifications are available in the community development department. *Drawings, to scale, for commercial and residential buildings require engineer stamping for approval. **EFFECTIVE AUGUST 1, 2007, ALL EXISTING PROJECTS UNDER REVIEW AND ALL NEW PLANS SUBMITTED FOR LAND DISTURBANCE PERMITS MUST CONFORM TO THE NEW GSWCC CHECKLIST FOR EROSION, SEDIMENTATION CONTROL, AND POLLUTION CONTROL PER NPDES GUIDANCE FOR THE RESPECTIVE PROJECT (COMMON DEVELOPMENT, LINEAR, STAND ALONE).
